The fire was ignited in Brielle Park at around 9:09 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, the Brielle Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The night before Halloween is known by many as "Mischief Night," a time when some children and young adults commit pranks or acts of vandalism.
Officers said two suspects who appeared to be 13 to 15 years old set a fire and destroyed borough property near the baseball field and batting cages. Police didn't further describe the fire damage.
Surveillance photos showed one teen was wearing a black University of North Carolina Tar Heels hoodie. The other teen had a black/blue long-sleeve shirt and black/white Adidas sneakers.
Anyone with information about the vandalism should call Brielle police at 732-528-5050.
